Apple headphones don’t stay in my ears. Like, at all. And because Apple only design ‘perfect’ products for ‘perfect’ people, I can only assume this means Steve Jobs thinks my ears suck.
But I don’t have to like the Earbuds, and they don’t have to fit my ears. Because I’m a PC and Android person, and that means none of Apple’s products are designed for me. Their target market is young, middle class, white men who love Apple. Of course, other people may still buy Apple products, but they’re not made for them.
People aren’t the same. Not everyone is designed for everyone. And that’s OK. Apple doesn’t half-ass their marketing and hedge their bets with their audience. Instead, they are always unashamedly and unapologetically Apple. And they don’t give two fucks if I hate them.
Are you brave enough to be more Apple? What would happen if you stopped caring whether everyone liked, respected, and understood you?
There are 7.7 billion people in the world and you are the only one that is uniquely you. The world needs that authentic version of you, not a version trying to placate everyone. Because not everyone has to like you, just the important ones – your personal target market, if you will.
I don’t send marketing emails. I doubt Apple does either. It’s not because I’m arrogant enough to think I’m as good as Apple is, I just hate spam as much as you do.
