How do we treat machines? With love, compassion, and understanding, or… like a machine whose only job is to do what we want? Do we read the instructions to our home printer, treat it to the best quality ink cartridges, and get a highly qualified technician to service it regularly? Or do we just discard it and buy a new one if hitting it doesn’t fix it when it breaks?
How do you think talking about and treating your body like a machine will mean that you care for it?
Your Body-Self is not a machine. It is not a simple closed mechanical system that you can bend to your Thinking-Self’s will. It is a living, thinking, part of your whole Self and deserves to be treated as such.
“A living body is not a fixed thing but a flowing event, like a flame or a whirlpool…”Alan Watts
